I Have to Write Now

I don't think I've ever actually written in this blog. I may have done so and simply never noticed, or was too drunk out of my mind to remember. In either case, I've been tagged by a very loyal visitor to this blog and I feel obligated to comply. Who knows? It might even be fun.

So here's the gist of it: acccording to La Sirena, I'm supposed to come up with no less than 5 of my favorite songs. That should be an easy task. As everyone knows, I am a music afficionado, sort of.

Here they are, in no particular order:

  1. Personal Jesus by Depeche Mode
  2. YYZ by Rush
  3. The Trooper by Iron Maiden
  4. Straight Outta Compton by NWA
  5. Sabotage by The Beastie Boys

There you have it. My own fab five. Some were chosen for the great videos that accompany them. Some were chosen for their killer bass line (I'm a bass player). All were chosen becuse I just really enjoy listening to them.

All selections are linked to corresponding videos on YouTube because, come on, you know I'm all about the videos, right?

La Sirena,
When we stop witnessing the strength of street knowledge, the terrorists win.

Indierocker,
Thanks for the tip. I'll be sure to check out the Cash rendition.

I was not aware that you were into music or music videos.

Although I can't recommend Marilyn Manson's cover of Personal Jesus as "good", I do enjoy it.
